Paradise Lost {Book I} )

I had so much fun reading this in my Milton class. If you have any questions about how he phrases things or individual words, I would love to talk to you.

Gods, I wish Paradise Lost was made into a movie. It would be awesome. D8 /wants

Powerful Beauty
AT A SOLEMN MUSICK

by: John Milton (1608-1674)

LEST pair of Sirens, pledges of Heav'ns joy,
Sphear-born harmonious Sisters, Voice, and Vers,
Wed your divine sounds, and mixt power employ
Dead things with inbreath'd sense able to pierce,
And to our high-rais'd phantasie present,
That undisturbèd Song of pure content,
Ay sung before the saphire-colour'd throne
To him that sits theron
With Saintly shout, and solemn Jubily,
Where the bright Seraphim in burning row
Their loud up-lifted Angel trumpets blow,
And the Cherubick host in thousand quires
Touch their immortal Harps of golden wires,
With those just Spirits that wear victorious Palms,
Hymns devout and holy Psalms
Singing everlastingly;
That we on Earth with undiscording voice
May rightly answer that melodious noise;
As once we did, till disproportion'd sin
Jarr'd against nature chime, and with harsh din
Broke the fair musick that all creatures made
To their great Lord, whose love their motion sway'd
In perfect Diapason, whilst they stood
In first obedience, and their state of good.
O may we soon again renew that Song,
And keep in tune with Heav'n, till God ere long
To his celestial consort us unite,
To live with him, and sing in endles morn of light.

Note: I will do my best to type up snippets of Paradise Lost. I can't think of a more inspiring work. Milton is, by far, my favorite poet/author.

Verbose Butterflies
DREAM LAND

by: Christina Rossetti (1830-1894)

HERE sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
To seek where shadows are
Her pleasant lot.

She left the rosy morn,
She left the fields of corn,
For twilight cold and lorn
And water springs.
Through sleep, as through a veil,
She sees the sky look pale,
And hears the nightingale
That sadly sings.

Rest, rest, a perfect rest
Shed over brow and breast;
Her face is toward the west,
The purple land.
She cannot see the grain
Ripening on hill and plain;
She cannot feel the rain
Upon her hand.

Rest, rest, for evermore
Upon a mossy shore;
Rest, rest at the heart's core
Till time shall cease:
Sleep that no pain shall wake;
Night that no morn shall break
Till joy shall overtake
Her perfect peace.

I am going to start a new trend with my journal. Instead of posting sporadically about things that only matter in the moment, I will fill these pages with examples of my favorite literature.

Each day, I will post a poem or a piece of prose. I hope my f-list enjoys this.

Mwhaha...~shares with f-list~ )

Edit: If you are a fan of Twilight...

I...

I don't know. I think you need to read more books. Better books.

I can be somewhat forgiving if you go for the eye candy or movie flashiness, but really...

The books are bad. They make me sad for this country's literacy level.

That being said, if this offended anyone, I am sorry.

I still mean every word in said chat regardless, however. XD

I never say anything productive on here...

I love that my life has slowed way down, but, unfortunately, that makes for crappy journal entries and a happy Ash. XD So, instead, I present you with ICONS. These aren't just any icons - these are CRAPPILY MADE ICONS! 8D

Also, to those who keep leaving comments on my KKM fic, I will get back to writing it soon. I'm glad you liked that scene so much. ^^ &hearts

Now onto the sole point of this entry... ;; )

Note: Since I picked up Aerith in one place and Cloud in the other, I'm...torn as to who I ship and why. So... Thank you, Deviant Art for making it even more confusing. ;_;

Also, if you want to know the individual artist names, I can give them to you. 8)

Greek Goddess Personality Quiz

Greek Goddess Personality Quiz from Dumb-Spot.com!

I am Persephone
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring, as well as Goddess of the Underworld. She is known for being kidnapped by Hades, the God of the Underworld. Her mother, Demeter mourned her departure by refusing to let crops grow--essentially the creation of winter. Persephone returns every Spring, but is cursed to return to the Underworld once every year. Like Persephone, you feel pain, but don't lose your sense of optimism. You have a lot of empathy toward the suffering of others, though you need your solitude from time to time.

Someone explain to me why RPers need to be so damn rude to one another? I know that a fair bit of RPers go to college (highschool at the very least) and they still can't seem to word criticism in a way that doesn't make me want to punch them in the face.

Here's an etiquette lesson...

When or if you have a problem with someone else's characterization of who the hell cares from whatsit canon, you never do the following:

1.) Make bullet points wherein you point out where the "mistake" was made and why it's so godawful and wrong.
2.) Leave only negative comments. (Constructive Criticism is about balancing the positive and the negative and ensuring your words are not taken as a battle call.)
3.) Argue with the person when they are obviously hurt by your words.
4.) Leave any criticism (good or bad) when you don't know what's going on in the game.
5.) And, lastly, if you were a previous member of said game, don't assume that gives you lording rights over the players that apply in the future. That's the Mods' duty - not yours.

~phew~ All of this applies to a nasty set of comments I got in my Ciel account this morning. It was nice to get my account paid for me, but why did this have to follow it?

Also? My hated critic? Your Sebastian is dry and boring. I can say the same for the Ciel you've deigned worthy of RPing with you in that game. If that's your cup of tea, please go right ahead. I, however, like to play with the nuances of a character's personality.

Though I'm not saying I'm "perfectly canon", because I'm not. I don't say that I am. I am taking Ciel's base and evolving it to fit his new environment. So yes - he does need to open up to a few people. If he's all by himself, do you realize how depressed he will be? The little Earl does not do well on his own. We have seen this.

Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?

Final Fantasy VII

And I think I'm getting better. The antibiotic/steroid combo is giving me a weird side effect, though. I've had uncontrollable hiccups all day. O.o

XD Such fun.

Oh why not? Who am I from other Final Fantasy games? )

So I started to read this book while I was taking a bath earlier...

It's not the best read right off the bat. Some of the sentences are run-ons lacking words like "and" or "as well as", but I can live with that.

What made me nearly choke was when the story went to this place:

"What do you have in your mouth, beauty?"

"Toothache." The girl stuck out her tongue--on its pink tip lay a clover. The sight of her tongue made me hard. I wanted to plow her.

Wait. Wot?

And how does a clover help a toothache?

Methinks this is a poor set-up for some raunchy medieval shenanigans.

Btw the name of the book is: The Lady and the Unicorn by Tracy Chevalier.

Here, have a Drocell video to cure the bad images...or not. XD )

Fwee!
